The Town of Plattsburgh Announces Weekly Electronic Waste Recycling Program

PLATTSBURGH – The Town of Plattsburgh is pleased to announce a new partnership with EWASTE+ to provide residents with a convenient way to responsibly recycle electronic waste on a weekly basis.

Beginning Tuesday, September 1, 2026, Town residents will be able to drop off eligible electronic waste at Town Hall, located at 151 Banker Road, Plattsburgh, NY 12901.

Smaller accepted electronic items may be dropped off in the collection box located in the Main Lobby, during regular business hours, Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. For larger electronic items, residents are asked to call ahead and make an appointment. Larger items will be accepted, by appointment, on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The weekly collection program is being offered through the Town’s partnership with EWASTE+, a New York-based electronics recycling company that provides environmentally responsible recycling and secure data destruction services.

Residents will be able to recycle a wide variety of common electronic items, including televisions, computers and laptops, tablets, gaming systems and consoles, monitors, printers, scanners, fax machines, cell phones, home phones, computer accessories, cables and wiring, audio/visual equipment, receivers, hard drives, servers, and other eligible electronic equipment.

“This partnership provides our residents with a convenient option to properly dispose of unwanted electronics throughout the year,” said Town Supervisor Chuck Kostyk. “Residents will now have a regular opportunity to bring accepted items to the Town for responsible recycling rather than allowing old electronics to accumulate in their homes or potentially end up in the landfill.”

The Town encourages residents to check the list of accepted items before bringing electronics to the collection site. Some items are not accepted through the residential program, including household appliances, liquids, powders, oils, compressed gas containers, aerosol cans, batteries, medical equipment, thermostats, smoke detectors, light bulbs, air conditioners, e-cigarettes or vapes.
